Your name or any nicknames you have?
Where are you at in the world? Where will you be fishing this year?
What river(s) and lake(s) do you guide/fish?
How long have you been guiding/fly fishing?
What got you into fly fishing? When did you start?
I wanted an activity I could do on my own in the mountains when I wasn’t snowboarding. I used to rock climb a lot and that required so much gear and preparation and typically other people, fly fishing appealed to me in that I could do it independently all year long. I also grew up in a fly fishing family and I knew what a wooly bugger was by the time I was 7!
Why do you fly fish? What does it “do” for you?
I fly fish to enjoy the mountains with my dog and because of the new places and people I meet along the way.
If you own and use a Rod Vault, what do you like about you Rod Vault?
“I fly fish to enjoy the mountains with my dog and because of the new places and people I meet along the way.”
What is a piece of advice you want to give to other anglers or a tip/trick that has helped you grow as an angler?
Fish alone! My most memorable trips were all camping and fishing solo with my dog. Forces you to really expand upon your skills in a low-pressure environment.

What is your favorite fly? (To tie, or catch fish on?)
Favorite fly to fish with is definitely a Chubby Chernobyl and favorite fly to tie right now might be any articulated streamer.
Best catch of all time?
Crushing snake river cutties all day on giant hoppers in Bridger Teton national forest!
What’s your “Dream Trip”?
The one where I am flown to Argentina, Belize, Iceland and New Zealand for a year-long fish fest.
What are some of the best places you’ve been fishing?
Alaska and Nicaragua for my first bonefish on the fly
